Rapid results allow an earlier diagnosis - appropriate
treatment can be started much more quickly.
Different items of equipment allow a different range of tests to be
performed, for example:
Biochemistry analyser
This analyser allows us to measure various substances
found in the blood. If results are outside the normal range, this suggests
damage to or dysfunction of various internal organs, for example kidneys,
liver and pancreas.
Haematology analyser
This measures the various cells present in the blood,
and allows us to diagnose anaemia and abnormalities in white cell numbers.
Microscope
This allows us to examine, among others, blood
smears, skin scrapings and aspirates from lumps. This facilitates the
diagnosis of different types of anaemia, skin and ear diseases, and tumours.
